[Movie -- / Day 232]
Still an awesome film. I really want to see the Director's Cut. Not sure why it's not being released in the UK.

Race to Witch Mountain (2009)
[Movie 208 / Day 220]

Dwayne Johnson plays a Las Vegas cabbie who gets caught up in a race against time, the government and an alien race when two kids get in the back of his cab, claim to be from another planet and ask for his help to recover their spaceship so they can return to their own planet in order to save both it and Earth.
It's an average kids actioner.

Spy Kids 3: Game Over (2003)
[Movie 194 / Day 209]

The third and, mercifully, final installment of the Spy Kids trilogy is less a film, more an excuse to cram as many dodgy CGI 3D shots as possible into 90 minutes. The effects are bad, the plot is worse.
My rating: 3.0 / 10
IMDB rating: 4.1 / 10

Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams (2002)
[Movie 186 / Day 205]

More of the same in this crappy sequel. The Spy Kids are now an official offshoot of the secret government spy operation the grown ups work for. Of course they are.
Even in this smouldering pile of poo, Steve Buscemi is good.
My rating: 4.8 / 10

Spy Kids (2001)
[Movie 183 / Day 202]

Carmen and Juni are two ordinary kids living ordinary lives. Until they discover that their parents are ex-super spies who have just been captured on one last mission! Quick as a flash, they're off the rescue, as spy kids! What japes.
A bit rubbish.

Night at the Museum (2006)
[Movie 141 / Day 151]

Ben Stiller plays a divorced man that seems unable to hold down a job and as such, is in danger of not being allowed to see his son anymore. So he takes a job as nightwatchman at the Museum of Natural History.
Unbeknown to him however, all of the exhibits come to life at sundown and cause havoc until dawn.
Various adventures happen, everything turns out well enough for them to have made a sequel.
It's OK, fun but not particularly funny.
My rating: 6.5 / 10
IMDB rating: 6.4 / 10
Running time: 108 mins

Righteous Kill (2008)
[Movie 120 / Day 101]

Together for the first time (apart from Heat, which doesn't count as they're hardly on screen together!), Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro star as two cops trying to trace a serial killer.
Unfortunately, it's pretty formulaic stuff and you can see the twist coming within minutes of the opening credits.
Happily, Pacino and DeNiro are brilliant opposite each other. If only they'd been given a script with some meat.
My rating: 6.6 / 10
IMDB rating: 6.1 / 10

Watchmen (2009)
[Movie 101 / Day 65]

One of the greatest graphic novels ever finally makes it to the big screen. Watchmen is set in an alternate 1985 where costumed vigilantes walk the streets of America while the world is on the brink of a nuclear holocaust. One of them, Rorschach (who more-or-less defines "bad-ass") tries to track down the killer of one of the masked men believing that someone is trying to murder all of the remaining (mostly retired) heroes.
I know it's got an 18 certificate, but I wasn't really expecting this movie to be particularly violent - and for the most part, it isn't... But when the violence happens, it's absolutely brutal and almost shocking at times.
It's well acted, written (quite a lot of dialogue seems to have been lifted straight from the book) and directed; the soundtrack is good, the CGI is good... It's just a great film. Not exactly a happy one, but brilliant nonetheless.
I loved the title sequence, full of ultra-slow-mo and Bob Dylan.
I look forward to seeing it again.
