Scientists working in the desert inadvertantly unleash a 100-ft Tarantula upon the sleepy town of Desert Rock.
Very tame by todays standards, the special effects aren't too bad, considering the age of the movie.
Considering how short the film is, the fact it feels really slow reflects how thin the plot is.
A very young (and uncredited) Clint Eastwood appears as a pilot near the end of the movie.
